Coussea Positioning Cushions: Support, Relief, and Medical Prevention

Our positioning cushions are ergonomic devices designed for the prevention of pressure sores, the relief of pressure points, and the optimal distribution of support in a lying position, prolonged sitting, or supine/lateral decubitus. Recommended for bedridden individuals, in nursing homes, medicalized environments, or for home care, they help prevent necrosis, wounds, redness, or cutaneous friction.

High Resiliency Viscoelastic Memory Foam Technology

Composed of viscoelastic foams, memory foam, high-density foam, or hollow fibers, our cushions ensure precise anatomical support for sensitive areas: coccyx, sacrum, lumbar region, hips, thighs, lower limbs, torso, heels, or bust. Their ergonomic shape conforms to body types and adapts to all types of therapeutic positioning (supine, lateral, prone). Some models are also inflatable, rectangular, or made of microbeads to adapt to all body types.

Washable and Compliant

Coussea cushions feature waterproof covers made of polyurethane, which are removable, machine washable, and sometimes treated to be anti-mite, hypoallergenic, or breathable. They are suitable for cases of urinary incontinence, maceration, excessive sweating, and can be used with an anti-decubitus mattress, a mattress topper, or leg rests. Their elastic straps ensure ideal lateral or back support on a medical bed, a wheelchair, or a motorized lift.

Clinical Indications: Mobilization, Healing, and Rehabilitation

Used for the prevention and treatment of pressure sores, these cushions reduce shearing, improve blood circulation, facilitate the mobilization of patients with malnutrition, prolonged immobility, or a need for gentle restraint. They are suitable for position changes, sacral support, and the reduction of pressure on pressure points, while promoting the healing of ulcers and skin lesions.
